Join us in Switzerland or Greece
Action from Switzerland is run entirely by volunteers. We recruit passionate advocates for human rights and social justice on a continual basis to stand with us and our friends fleeing war and persecution.
If you are interested in joining our team, please read the descriptions below and follow the link to the appropriate Google Form(s) – please fill out all relevant forms if you have flexibility.
To ensure we can utilize your skills effectively we ask that you provide as much information as possible. We respect your privacy and will not share your data outside our organization. We thank you for your trust and look forward to hearing from you. Our volunteer coordinator will follow up with you via email to set up a meeting or call to discuss opportunities and next steps.
Volunteering in Switzerland
Our Swiss-based volunteers carry out a wide range of tasks and projects and we are always seeking enthusiasm and new ideas.
Find more information on our current local projects on the Integration page. We also need volunteers with skills in technology, public relations, journalism, law, fundraising, grant-writing, psychology / counseling, and education (especially with experience teaching German).
Complete this form if you are able to volunteer with us from Switzerland.
Volunteering in Greece
Due to the nature of our work in Greece, we are currently seeking female volunteers who are dynamic, mentally strong, calm and highly organised team players who are able to stay on Chios for at least 30 days.
We have a particularly strong need for volunteers with experience in psychology, sexual gender-based violence, and/or social work as well as those who are fluent in Arabic, Farsi, Sorani, or Kurmanji. Learn more about the Athena Centre and volunteer responsibilities here.
Volunteering as a Translator
Due to a diverse mix of nationalities, English is the working language of our organization. However, we have an ongoing need for individuals who can assist with translations, especially in Arabic, Farsi, Sorani, and Kurmanji. Skills in German, French, and Italian are also welcome.
Complete this form if you are able to assist us with translations remotely from home or on-site in Greece.
